This pincushion flower is named Burgundy Beau, but you can pick the color: wine red, rich plum, or houw about burnished burgundy. No matter the name, these fully double, domed 2 inch flowers attact bees with its nectar rich flowers appearing all summer.
Like other atropurpurea varieties, this 2 foot tall beauty is multi-branching and floriferous. Each dome is comprised of dozens of tiny petals, adding texture to the flowers. Deadheading prolongs blooming. Also attracts butterflies.
Plant in sun to light shade in fertile, well-drained soil. Goes deciduous but returns in the spring.
Sow 3 - 4 seeds per plant and space 12 - 18 inches apart for best results.
